New Swing Set

The kids got a new swing set! We had a neighborhood hand me down that had seen better days, so we decided it was time for a new one. We all went to the show room and tried out the ones that they offered. What a blast for the kids! We were able to see what steps were the easiest, what slide worked and what accessories they really liked!

The guys were pretty quick putting it together. Colin and Tatum could hardly wait! They went right out after it was complete and spent an hour on it. They have been on it every day since unless it is pouring out! One day they even stayed out until the rain clouds were right on us.

If you're looking for us this summer, now you know where we'll be! Just come out back and join us!

A Day at the Park

We went to the park near our local Y. The kids were excited as this was the first time this spring that we got to go. It was about 85 degrees! So not used that...wish it had stayed that way:(
The park was pretty busy because of the weather, but we had a great time. The kids went for the slides first and were there for a while. They also rode the dinosaur together, the fire engine and the chicken.
The swings were full and they decided to sit and wait so they wouldn't lose their place in line. After five minutes, they looked pretty unhappy, but soon enough, got the swings to themselves for a bit.
When they were hot and tired, we went back to the car for a nice refreshing juice box!

Easter

This year, we had a very low key Easter. We went to our annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt. For the first time, it wasn't a freezing windy day! As always, tons of excited kids strolled in with their baskets. We took a group shot of all the kids and for some reason, both Colin and Tatum thought it would be better to sit for it. I thought it was funny! There were hundreds of eggs over multiple yards! What a great time for everyone. When the baskets were filled, we all went out back to empty them and recycle the eggs for next year. Colin and Tatum then enjoyed hanging out with the kids. They went on the swings and the slide, did the rock climbing wall and the trampoline. If that wasn't enough, they stayed outside once we got home too! They slept really well that night:)

On Easter, we had my mom over. We had ham with all the fixings:) Tatum just ate ham and some butter off her bread. Colin ate anything I put in front of him. Nana frosted the bunny cake in front of the kids and they were fascinated with the process. She even got them to help with the sprinkles! I think that made it taste even better than usual!

The bunny brought them a Mickey Mouse stuffed animal, a new travel/sports cup and some videos. I tink I can recite Kai-Lan and Learning to Read Factory by heart. I guess "somebunny" picked right! Nana brought them each a golf set with a hole cup and tee. With the weather being so nice, they are alreadu getting some great use!
