Big Girl Bed

About 3 weeks ago, Tatum discovered how to climb out of her crib. Once she figured that out, there was no keeping her in it. Every night, she comes into our room to snuggle. Not that we mind this, but we were afraid that she might hurt herself climbing out in the dark.
After talking up earning a big girl bed, we got one last night!
We spent the afternoon putting it together and taking down the crib. Tatum was so excited! She had to help us of course. That doubled the time it took, but she was so cute!
We also set up her table and chairs that she got for her birthday. On the table, we put her new tea set. Her room looks so different and grown up.
Tonight, she gave us kisses and climbed right into bed. She held my hand until she feel asleep, but never tried to escape!

First Hair Cut

I brought Colin for a haircut and decided that Tatum could use a little trim to clean up her hair. The stylist trimmed and straightened out the back of her hair. She was so funny. She sat pretty frozen holding onto the mirror. She got her bangs trimmed too. When we were in China, Tatum's hair was shaved down to her scalp with just this V of hair in the front. The stylist just tried to blend it into her hair a little better. At the end, she put a clip in her hair. It stayed in just long enough for me to snap the photo!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday

We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday for the past two days. We made birthday cards and colored Cat in the Hat hats.
We read some of their favorite books. Colin loves Go, Dog, Go, Dr. Seuss' ABC Book, and Fox in Socks. The last one was my favorite when I was a kid. I so enjoy reading it to them! Tatum has just started to sit and listen to stories. She likes it when I do silly voices for the characters.
Dennis and Colin's book is Hop on Pop. Most of the time, Colin won't even let me read it to him.
After reading Green Eggs and Ham, we talked about where we would eat green eggs and ham. Colin told me that he would eat them in bed...then giggled. Upon hearing this, Tatum proceeded to say, "bed". How cute!

Elmo's Birthday Party

Our Borders held a third birthday party for Elmo. They had games for the kids. The first was a scavenger hunt where the kids searched for hand and footprints. Then they played pin the nose on the Elmo. While making birthday cards, they listened to stories about Elmo. Finally, Tatum and Colin got to strut their stuff on the dance floor! Too cute!
