Sesame Place Day 2
We decided to do the wet park on day 2. Luckily, the weather was perfect! It was sunny and 86* with a little breeze. After a breakfast of waffles and eggs, we headed off to the park. We started at the Twiddlewinks area. First, we went into the teeny tiny tidal wave pool. Colin and Tatum liked just running around in it. The area also had a little water fall and fountain. After a few, we bravely headed up to the Sky Splash. This water slide had tubes for up to 6 people. We walked up a gazillion steps to the top with the huge rubber duckie! The kids put on life vests and hopped on in. The ride was great and the giggles were even better. Then we headed over to Slimey's Chutes. This one had double tubes for 2 people. Dennis and Tatum went together and Colin went with me. The whole way down Colin yelled, "down the slide" and squealed with delight! As soon as we got off, Tatum announced that she wanted the rubber duckie again. Up the stairs we went and the down the slide we laughed! Then Colin wanted the pink tubes again, so over to that slide we went.
By the time we finished with those 2 rides, it was already time for lunch! We ate at Ernie's outside. It was good and it was nice to sit in the shade. Tatum got a book all about her just like her brother did 2 years ago. She was very excited that Elmo is in it.
After lunch, we all took a ride on the lazy river. Colin sat on Dennis and sat straight up the whole time so that he didn't miss anything. I'm sure Dennis was very comfortable. Tatum laid on me and almost fell asleep. Then we got bumped under one of the fountains and that definitely woke her up. On the way over to the new Count's Splash Mountain, we got stuck. It turns out that we had the front row for the parade! The kids got to give the characters high fives! AND...Telly did a cartwheel right on front of us.
We made it over to the castle in time for the countdown. The count goes backward from 5 and then the huge bucket of water dumps on everyone. That was fun to watch! We went in and the kids went down the small slides. Buckets of water kept getting us, but the kids thought it was funny.
We changed before we left and Tatum fell fast asleep as we left the park. We relaxed in the hotel before going to dinner at Houlihan's. It was very good. We all shared the signature stuffed mushrooms. The kids loved them. Tatum had more pizza and Colin had his favorite, grilled cheese. Tatum tried some of Dennis' Reuben, but quickly gave it back to him...after she chewed it!
They both conked out easily after a busy day!

Sesame Place Day 1
We went over to Sesame Place right after breakfast. Colin ate 3 Belgian Waffles. We also discovered that Tatum loves orange juice.
The kids were so excited to see the characters! We rode the carousel and the kids did great! Then we headed over to see the Elmo show. That was quite a hit! Elmo was thinking about fishies. Even Mr. Noodle was there. From there, we all went on the big balloon ride. Both Colin and Tatum were fascinated.
I took the kids on the teacup ride. I think that was Colin's favorite of the day! Everyone could hear his giggle!
Lunch was a blast with Big Bird! Elmo was there with Zoe, Bert and Ernie, Grover and Cookie. The food was actually pretty good.
After lunch, we played in Big Bird's nest and ran off some lunch. Tatum and I also went on Elmo's flying fish. Colin wanted to go on a slide so we headed up to one. Tatum made her way down all smiles. Colin was all smiles too, but he got stuck in the middle! Someone had gone on all wet and made the slide sticky. Dennis had to walk up and help him down.
Lastly, we got to watch the parade! All the characters came down Sesame Street and the kids were thrilled. At the gift shop, Tatum chose a Zoe doll and Colin, off course, got a Telly that has been saying "story" all day!
What a great day!!

Princeton New Jersey
We left at 9:45 this morning. The kids had a bath and a wake up wrap from DD's then we were on our way. The ride wasn't bad and we had fun looking at trains, planes and trucks. We had a mean game of 1, 2, 3 BLAST OFF! that lasted a good half hour. We stopped for lunch at Burger King and the kids had some chicken fries. Dennis and I also had a cinnabon treat!
The hotel is very nice and the room is big enough for all the toys. After unpacking, we spent some time at the indoor pool. It was definitely warmer than the Y's pool! It was great fun to all swim together. There were many giggles heard before we were done. We went into town and had dinner at TGIFriday's. Dennis had a steak and I had some sizzling chicken. Colin ate all his cheeseburger and Tatum loved her mac and cheese.
We then went into Princeton and walked around the college area. It was very quaint with little shops everywhere. Unfortunately, they were all closed...but we did get a Strabucks coffee for the walk.
Tomorrow, we head off to Sesame and have lunch with Big Bird!

Gotcha Anniversary Cookout
Today we had some friends over to celebrate Tatum's one year Gotcha Anniversary. How lucky we are to have such great kids. We can't imagine life before either of them.
Tatum has changed so much in the past year. She has become a confident and funny little girl. Her smile lights up a room and she is so affectionate! Tatum and Colin are so cute together! He calms her down and she gets him going. He is the brains and she is amazing at all things physical. They are the loves of our lives!
Luckily, it was a beautiful day. The kids played on the swings and slide. They tried their hand at a little horseshoes thanks to Nana. Bubbles were everywhere! The kids had fruit salad and mac and cheese. We had some burgers and dogs as Den was the master of the grill.
We enjoy getting together with all our friends and love that our kids are all around the same age.
Tomorrow, we leave for Sesame Place. The kids are so excited to see Elmo and the gang. I will be taking the laptop with us, so check back for updates!

Children's Museum
This week, I have been at the National Dance Convention. The kids have been doing great! I am so proud of them!
On Saturday, Dennis and the kids cam in with me. After a few hours of work, we walked down to the Children's Museum. We stayed for about two hours and had a nice lunch. The was actually shining and the walk felt great. The kids really seemed to enjoy themselves. We played in the marble room and had fun rolling golf balls down the ramps. Tatum loved the adaptive bike with the hand pedals. Colin was taken by the computer that talked and taught sign language. They both became future Red Sox players and helped daddy with the light up pattern blocks. Tatum climbed the rock climbing wall and Colin shot some hoops. Colin drove some toy trucks while Tatum preferred the tractor and the fire truck. There was so much for both of them to see and do! They both slept the whole ride home.
